• We're a home educating family of six living in Maryland. Our style is Charlotte Mason and we love both the Ambleside and Sonlight curriculums, but we frequently wander from the main path to explore "rabbit trails." Here we share our days: home learning, living books, nature discoveries, and life with children.

Charlotte Mason:

We used TT last year and my oldest will use 7 this fall, too. It is a breath of fresh air for us!

My oldest dd just finished TT 7 and it has been perfect. I can relate completely with you on how you feel about math, and Teaching Textbook math has been perfect for our family. My son will be starting on TT this coming year too. We tried Singapore Math (not enough explanation for me) and Saxon Math(torture for me and my kids lol) in the past.

You made a great choice. We also use TT and love it! Hip, hip horray for good curriculum!

We love Teaching Textbooks Math ! It was truly an answer to prayer for our family.

This is my second year using TT. I have all 4 of my kids using it this year. 4th grade, 6th grade, Algebra 2 and Geometry. I have found that it is great for explaining the process of each concept and has a lot of positive affirmation along the way for the younger grades. After switching from Saxon we found that this was actually a lot easier and a little behind other math problems, so my son is in 3rd grade doing the 4th grade math with no problem what so ever. Also, you can choose 7th grade math or pre-algebra, but it isn't necessary to do both if your child does pretty well with math.
